Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using ClearLedger ("Service"), operated by ClearLedger ("we," "us," or "our") at getclearledger.net. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ClearLedger, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have read and agree to these Terms, and agree to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ClearLedger is a personal finance application that connects to your financial accounts via Plaid to provide spending analysis, net worth tracking, and AI-powered financial insights. The Service is provided on a subscription basis.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

• ClearLedger offers monthly ($12/month) and annual ($115/year) subscription plans.
• All new subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment information.

4. Financial Data and Plaid

ClearLedger uses Plaid to access your financial account data. By connecting your accounts, you authorize ClearLedger to retrieve your account balances, transaction history, and related financial data through Plaid. You agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

You may disconnect your bank accounts at any time. ClearLedger does not initiate any financial transactions on your behalf.

5. AI Financial Insights

ClearLedger provides AI-generated financial insights powered by Anthropic's Claude. These insights are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions. ClearLedger is not a registered investment advisor.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
• Use the Service only for lawful personal finance management purposes
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
• Not use the Service to engage in any fraudulent activity

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Financial data displayed may be subject to delays and may not always reflect real-time balances.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClearLedger shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated insights.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
